Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SideAI Hub (the "Extension") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the Chrome extension.

1. What Data We Collect

The SideAI Hub Extension collects minimal data and prioritizes your privacy:

• Highlights and Notes: Text that you highlight on webpages and any notes you add are stored locally on your device.
• Settings: Your preferences for AI service selection and extension configuration are stored locally in Chrome storage.
• Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics.
• Personal Information: We do not require account creation or personal identification.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your highlights and notes are used exclusively for:

• Displaying saved highlights within the extension interface
• Providing search, filter, and copy functionality for your saved highlights
• Enabling the "Ask AI" feature to send selected text to AI services of your choice

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the extension.

3. How Your Data is Stored

Local Storage

All highlights, notes, and settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data:

• Remains on your computer and is not synced to external servers
• Is only accessible by the SideAI Hub Extension
• Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the extension

Cloud Sync

The Extension does not automatically sync your highlights across devices. If you want to backup your highlights, you can manually copy them to text files.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension integrates with AI services you choose to use, including:

• OpenAI (ChatGPT)
• Google (Gemini)
• Anthropic (Claude)
• Other AI services you add via custom URLs

When you use the "Ask AI" feature, the selected text is sent to your chosen AI service. Each service has its own privacy policy. The Extension does not intercept, store, or monitor this communication.

5. Security

The Extension uses the following security measures:

• All data is stored locally on your device with Chrome's built-in security
• The Extension does not transmit your highlights or notes to external servers
• Communications with AI services use your browser's secure connection (HTTPS)
• The Extension is regularly updated to address browser security changes

As a local-first extension, your data is as secure as your device itself.

6. Cookie Blocking Feature

The Extension includes a feature to block OneTrust cookie consent banners. This feature:

• Does not collect or store cookie data
• Only removes certain cookie banners from your view
• Does not affect your actual cookie settings or website functionality

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will notify users of the change through the extension's release notes or this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
